The Jinling Program features two credits of HTM internship, six credits of foreign language (Chinese), and three credits of HTM independent study, all within five months period in the historical and modern city of Nanjing , China . The program sponsor provides free international airfare, room and board, laundry allowances, fieldtrip excursions, and other benefits. The total benefits of the most recent program carry an estimated value of $26,400.
All interns will take a six-credit Chinese language class customized for Purdue students by Nanjing Normal University , which is taught by Purdue accredited instructors. As soon as the student successfully completes the language class, he will receive Departmental Credits from the Purdue FLL Department. These credits can be applied to the HTM Minor in International Studies.
Eligibility and Prerequisites: HTM and CSR students achieving sophomore or above standing by August 2007 are eligible to apply. The University's general study-abroad requirements apply.
Program period: July 1 - November 30, 2007.
