The College of Consumer and Family Sciences believes top students deserve rewards. The college offers several scholarships to recognize academic achievement, including Dean's Merit Scholarships of up to $4,000 annually for four years. A student's financial need or major area of study may also play a part in the selection process. In addition, scholarships are available to students who participate in a study abroad program.

CFS Dean's Merit Scholarships

Scholarships of up to $4,000 per year are available to CFS students who demonstrate high academic performance. No separate application is necessary. Students will be notified if they receive a scholarship when they are admitted. A complete admission application must be on file with the Office of Admissions no later than November 15, 2008, to be considered.

Study Abroad Scholarships

The College of Consumer and Family Sciences has a number of scholarships specifically for students who are studying abroad. Information on CFS Study Abroad Scholarships for 2009 programs will be available on October 15. In addition, the Purdue Study Abroad Office offers scholarships.

Division of Financial Aid

It is extremely important for students to utilize the resources of the Division of Financial Aid. To be considered for some scholarships in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences, financial need must be demonstrated. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed annually to be considered for aid.

  • For the 2008-09 academic year, (fall 2008, spring 2009, summer 2009)you must file the 2008-09 FAFSA (available January 1, 2008). You will need 2007 income information. The Purdue University, West Lafayette, Federal School Code is 001825.
