If you have a history of high scholastic achievement, then you may be eligible for the Honors Program in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences. The program provides many learning opportunities while enabling you to independently explore an area related to your major academic interest. You will experience the challenges and rewards associated with planning and completing a research project. Throughout the Honors Program, you work under the guidance of a Faculty Honors Advisor. Successful completion of the project results in recognition including an Honors Degree (graduating with honors). You can apply for the Honors Program at any time during your college career.

To see year-by-year what you will be doing in the Honors Program, visit Steps to Earning a CFS Honors Diploma.

  • The statement "Completed Honors Program in Consumer and Family Sciences" appears on your transcript.
  • You earn a certificate of recognition from Purdue University.
  • The Commencement program indicates the names of those graduates who have fulfilled the requirements as set forth by the CFS Honors Council.
