PROGRAM STRENGTHS · S tudents in the program have won many intramural, state, and national research awards, including a large number of the prestigious AAMFT Research Awards. · T he program supports the professionalization of students, as reflected in a large number of student-authored publications and student presentations at State and national conferences. · Although the program is relatively small, a large number of leadership positions in the field of MFT, like directors of other family therapy programs, editors of major journals, state association presidents, are held by Purdue graduates. · Graduates of the program are found in leading colleges, universities, medical schools, and well-known freestanding Institute. · F aculty members work well together, and promote collegiality among themselves and students. Faculty members are also among the most prolific scholars in the discipline of MFT. · E ach year, the program provides opportunities for students to have sustained contact with some of the best-known authorities in the field of family therapy. Also, we make use of teleconferencing to allow our students to interact with well-known family therapists across the country. · T he program is part of a strong, nationally recognized Department, the Department of Child Development and Family Studies. As mentioned in the Degrees Offered and Curriculum sections of this website, the program will become a unique dual concentration in MFT/FS (Family Studies) beginning Fall, 2010. |
