Financial Counseling and Planning

You’ve always had a knack with numbers, and you’d like to work in a financial environment. But you don’t want to be just another behind-the-scenes number cruncher. If you’d rather be working with people, helping them solve their financial problems and plan for the future in innovative ways, check out the financial counseling and planning program in the department of consumer sciences and retailing in the School of Consumer and Family Sciences.

Testimonial

"I wanted to be more than just a ‘numbers’ person. In addition to the technical skills I needed, Purdue taught me the interpersonal communication skills I would use in counseling and relating to people."

Mike Nicolini, 1991 Consumer and Family Sciences graduate
Assistant Vice President
Key Bank
Elkhart, Indiana
