Tasting Wine the Master’s Way
Frederick L. Dame, Master Sommelier
Paterno Wines International
You will be introduced to the methodology used for training Master
Sommelier candidates in the art of blind tasting. The lecture will
address using the senses of sight, smell, and taste to determine
vintage, origin, variety, and quality. The fine wines of Europe
and the New World will be featured allowing you to practice these
techniques. As the old saying goes, “Amaze your friends!”.
Frederick Dame is the first American to serve as president of the
Court of Master Sommeliers Worldwide, and is one of only 51 Americans
to have passed the Master Sommelier examination. As Master Sommelier
