Learning Communities Help First-year HTM and
CSR Students
The first time Louis Gigliotti set foot on the West Lafayette Campus
was three days before the start of fall classes. He had asked advisor
Bobbe Stephenson to put “a lonely Texan,” as he describes
himself, in some good classes. Upon arrival, Gigliotti learned he
had been placed in a learning community (LC) for consumer sciences

The Campaign for Purdue: Leading by Example
With The Campaign for Purdue in full swing, the School of Consumer
and Family Sciences is taking steps to ensure its own success in
raising the $33 million it needs for support of students, faculty,
programs, and facilities. Earlier this year, the school established
the LEAD (Learning, Engagement, and Discovery) Council to assist
the school in its campaign fundraising efforts and, ultimately,
