There are four academic departments and one interdisciplinary area
within the School of Consumer and Family Sciences. The School has
expanded and evolved many times since its origins as a department
in 1905. Because of this evolution, the Schools departments
have become very diverse. Yet, they share the same foundation
that of working to improve the lives of individuals, families, consumers,
and society through research, education, and outreach.
