The department believes that integrity in scholarship and research is an essential part of Purdue University's intellectual and social structure. Students are expected to maintain the highest standards of personal and professional conduct. Violations from this standard may bring about severe consequences. For more information on University regulations concerning student conduct, visit the University Regulations Web site.

APPLICATION INTEGRITY

The standard of integrity applies to the admission process also. Any falsification or misrepresentation of material submitted will result in disqualification. Misrepresentations discovered after any form of enrollment will also result in disqualification and an end to any department relationship, including funding.

GRADE STANDARDS

Students are expected to maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. Satisfactory progress in all courses listed in a student's plan of study is also important as determined by the student's Advisory Committee. Students who do not maintain an appropriate level of academic achievement may be dropped from the program. Some graduate student programs involve more than the minimum number of graduate courses. Decisions regarding plans of study are made by the student in conjunction with the student's Advisory Committee to provide appropriate professional proficiency before graduation.
