Students and faculty in this emphasis area are interested
in the examination of nutrition issues in populations or
in influencing nutrition knowledge of lay people through
educational programs. These researchers utilize human populations
or animal populations and depend upon the sciences of epidemiology,
educational theory, physiology, and biochemistry. This work
is the application of basic and clinical nutrition research
to improve the health of people and animals.
