Student Leadership rotates yearly. The current graduate group leader is Mary-Jon Ludy, a first year PhD student in the Mattes Lab. The Graduate Student representative for faculty meetings is LeeCole Legette, PhD student in the Weaver Lab.
The Graduate Student group is comprised of current graduate students in the Department of Foods & Nutrition and is headed by the group leader, elected by fellow members, as is the graduate student representative to faculty meetings.
As a group, we have regular meetings every 4 to 6 weeks (except during summer). At our meetings, we interact with each other and keep each other updated on any important events and information. During this time, the student representatives for faculty meetings share with the fellow students anything important put forth by the faculty. We also discuss social and departmental events like Thanksgiving, Valentine's, Corporate Affiliate meetings, etc. Our group also likes to give small gifts to faculty and support staff when appropriate.
