
Sandra S. Liu, Ph.D., M.B.A., and M.S. in Preventive Medicine, is Professor in the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing at College of Health and Human Sciences of Purdue University. Prior to becoming an academician in 1990, Dr. Liu worked extensively in the healthcare sector, including Ohio Department of Health, Bristol Myers (Taiwan) Ltd, and Allergan Inc. with responsibilities ranging from discovery, clinical research, program planning and monitoring, to international sales and marketing. Her relevant consultancy experience with Ascension Health (US), Bayer healthcare Ltd./China Hospital Association (China), 3M Hong Kong Limited (Hong Kong), CURE-San Pedro Sula (Honduras), and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Taiwan) encompasses planning for sustainable business models and marketing strategies for healthcare delivery; and development and evaluation of healthcare systems, operations, and programs. Her recent endeavors include: Building uniform platform for community-based health and wellbeing initiatives; developing sustainable working models for ensuring accessible and affordable health services to underserved populations in the State of Indiana; and mapping perceived racial and health disparities of the underserved populations in the communities serviced by CGUS. Dr. Liu has authored a number of journal articles and several books on strategic marketing management, customer contact strategies, social entrepreneurship, health care delivery system and process, and patient experience and satisfaction.
