This project is investigating the following areas that have been
underdeveloped in the literature:
- Professional publication in marriage and family therapy (MFT):
Who is writing for the archival MFT journal and what are they
writing about?
- Common factors in MFT outcome. What accounts for change in therapy
independent of the specific techniques used by the proponents
of the various "models" of MFT and how this knowledge of common
factors should impact training in MFT?
- The meaning of money in relationships and the extent to which
therapists are trained to deal with these issues.
- Cost effectiveness of MFT. How is it determined and how can
marriage and family therapists build cost effectiveness measures
into their research?
- How can family therapy education be expanded to include family
business consultation?
