Illness Guidelines for CDL Families
October 28, 2009
Dear Parents and Teachers,
Thank you for continuing to be vigilant, keeping your child home when sick, and teaching the children about hand washing and other precautions to prevent the spread of flu and other illnesses. We are doing pretty well so far! We have had a few reported "suspected" cases of flu in CDL and MCLC. However, absence rates so far have been well below 20% in each school. If we continue to work together, we can keep illness to a minimum this winter. We will continue to monitor daily, and if the absence rate reaches 20%, we will inform you, and we will consider closing the school for a couple of days to stem the spread of the virus.
Attached is a newly-updated brochure for parents from the Centers for Disease Control. Please read this brochure and follow its recommendations.
Also, if you would like to see a video webcast by the Centers for Disease Control produced especially for child care providers and parents of young children, go to this web page: http://www.flu.gov/news/knowwhattodo.html
Please let us know if you have questions!
