Demetra
Evangelou holds PhD and MEd degrees from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Early Childhood
Education. Her graduate advisors were Professor
Lilian G. Katz and Professor Bernard Spodek. Her
current research interests focus on teacher education,
mixed-age groups in early childhood education
and issues of gender and pedagogy. She has taught
a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses
at Purdue University, Aristotle University, and
Democritus University in Greece.
