Scholarships & Financial Aid

The College of Consumer and Family Sciences offers a variety of scholarships to recognize academic achievement, including Dean’s Merit Scholarships. Scholarships are also available to students who participate in a study abroad program.

CFS Dean's Merit Scholarships

Scholarships of up to $4,000 per year are available to incoming CFS first-year students who meet academic requirements, as long as funds are available. No separate application is necessary, but a complete admissions application must be on file with the Office of Admissions by November 15, 2009. Students will be notified if they are awarded a Dean’s Merit Scholarship after they are admitted. Only domestic students are eligible to receive a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. For more information on Dean’s Merit Scholarships, please contact Betsy Thompson, CFS Scholarship Administrator, at (765) 494-8533 or bthompso@purdue.edu.

Trustees and Presidential Scholarships

Trustees and Presidential Scholarships are merit scholarships awarded automatically by the University to qualified students. For more information on these scholarships, click here. All or part of these scholarships are supported by specific CFS scholarships funded by our generous donors.

Study Abroad Scholarships

Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 up to $3,000 are available to students participating in CFS study abroad programs through the Tse Fund for Global Scholars.

Division of Financial Aid

It is extremely important for students to utilize the resources of the Division of Financial Aid. To be considered for some scholarships in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences, financial need must be demonstrated. We encourage all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 in order to maximize consideration for all federal, state and institutional funds they may be eligible to receive.
