Nutrition Science 

If you've dreamed of doing things like helping to eliminate world hunger or setting government policy on nutrition, consider the nutrition science program available through the Department of Foods and Nutrition. Nutrition science is primarily a pre-professional program for those interested in pursuing graduate education or attending medical or dental school.

Learn from Experience

  • Perform an internship or externship. Faculty members strongly encourage students to do clinical work and research, and they offer contact information and other types of help in obtaining these opportunities.
  • Take advantage of the unique opportunity to work and learn in a clinical research setting within the nationally recognized Department of Foods and Nutrition.
  • Meet high-level food industry executives and explore career opportunities in the department's executive-in-the-classroom program.
