Corporate Sponsorships: Internships in China

The college’s China internship program with the five-star Jinling Hotel in Nanjing, China, began in 2000. The tremendous success of the Jinling program encouraged us to seek additional internship opportunities for Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) and Consumer Science and Retailing (CSR) students. In 2009, we welcomed Shangri-La Hotel in Dalian, China, to our China internship program. We are grateful to Jinling Hotel and Shangri-La Hotel for their generous support of our China internship program.

The internship program combines study abroad, professional training, and cultural experience throughout the 6-month experience. The program consists of 12 academic credits, including two credits of internship, six credits of foreign language (Chinese), and four credits of HTM Study Abroad (39800). These credits can be applied to HTM or CSR students' plan of study as well as counted toward an HTM International Minor.

Sponsorship benefits include international airfare, room and board, stipends, and other benefits. The sponsorship is valued at $32,400 per student.

The college is grateful for the support of the sponsors and the incredible opportunity they afford those who participate in the program.
