CFS Multicultural Society for Excellence (MSFE)

The main goal for this organization is to prepare students to compete professionally. The emphasis will be placed on interviewing skills, resume writing, communication skills, and general professional growth and development for the students within the organization. Visit the MSFE Web site.

CFS Ambassadors

Ambassadors are a select group of 15 to 20 CFS students who serve as representatives of the college for recruiting, development, and alumni activities. Among their responsibilities, ambassadors attend and speak at alumni events and talk with prospective students. To be eligible for the Ambassador program, students must have been enrolled in CFS for at least two semesters and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Visit the CFS Ambassadors Web site.

CFS Student Council

This organization represents all of the student body of the College of Consumer and Family Sciences. It functions as a liaison between the students, faculty, and administration of the college while promoting communication and college activities. CFS Student Council petitions are accepted in the fall for first year students and/or transfer students. Any new CFS student is eligible for membership on the council the first semester of school. Club Managers Association of America (CMAA)

CMAA is designed to promote and advance relations among persons connected with the management of clubs. Students are involved in setting up field trips to various types of clubs as well as educational seminars for students interested in the various facets of club management. Visit the CMAA Web site. Eta Sigma Delta

This international honor society recognizes academic excellence of hospitality management students. Eta Sigma Delta is part of the Council of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Educators (CHRIE). Students in the academic top 20 percent of the college are invited to join this prestigious society. The members engage in community service activities, tutoring for hospitality management students, social activities, and professional service to the hospitality industry. Griffin Corps

Griffin Corps is an elite foodservice team-in-training that serves at prestigious University functions. Corps members earn academic credit and are paid for hours worked. Members selected take HTM 393 Advanced Service Technique and HTM 394 Service Internship for a total of two credits.

Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA)

HSMA provides students who have an interest in sales and marketing with the opportunity to develop those skills working with hotels, restaurants, and tourist organizations throughout the midwest. HSMA organizes six sales blitzes each year where members become part of the professional sales force of a company, making personal phone calls on their behalf. HSMA provides a great opportunity to network with executives in the hospitality industry, gain valuable sales experience, and stay in some of the finest hotels in the region (all expenses paid). HTM Career Day Executive Board

This elected board is responsible for organizing and implementing the annual HTM Career Day that hosts over 50 companies to campus. HTM Graduate Student Association (GSA)

The mission of the HTM Graduate Student Association is to market the HTM graduate program to the industry and prospective students. Visit the HTM GSA Web site.

HTM Society

HTM Society is an association of students who plan to enter the hospitality industry as professional managers. Members have a common interest in helping each other understand the profession of foodservice and lodging management. Indiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Professional/Graduate Section

INAFCS-P/GS is an affiliate section of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. AAFCS is a scientific and educational association of professionals which functions on local, state, national, and international levels. It promotes the mission of the profession of family and consumer sciences which is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families. Membership is open to anyone in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences. The call out is held early in the fall semester and a professional activity is planned on a monthly basis. Kappa Omicron Nu

Kappa Omicron Nu is a national honor society for students in CFS. Its purpose is to promote scholarship and leadership. Undergraduates with junior and senior classification maintaining a minimum of 3.4 GPA are invited for membership. Graduate students with a 3.5 GPA and halfway through their coursework are invited also. Visit the KON Web site.

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality
NSMH is the premier professional organization for minorities in hospitality. The group addresses diversity and mulitculturalism, as well as a focus on career development. They work to make the industry aware of the benefits that a diverse workforce provides in a business that caters to the world. Its motto: "Today's Students - Tomorrow's Leaders". Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)

PCMA's purpose is to familiarize its members with the basic aspects of the meetings and conventions field through educational and networking opportunities supported or developed by the Professional Convention Management Association and its members. Purdue Event Planning Society (PEPS)
Purdue Event Planning Society (PEPS) has been created to cultivate a community of students interested in learning more about the field of special events. The students are dedicated to actively pursuing what they are passionate about-Event Planning. Active participation in discussions, in conjunction with the International Special Events Society, guest speakers and through event planning participation and implementation they learn about how to present, promote and effectively put on events. Purdue Tourism Association (PTA)
PTA is a support group for students interested in the tourism industry. Guest speakers help students gain insight into the types of jobs available upon graduation.
