The HTM Career Center provides services for HTM undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni. The center serves as liaison between hospitality company representatives and the department. During the academic year, approximately 400 students use the services of the HTM Career Center to obtain permanent employment and internships in the hospitality industry. The center provides the following services:
- Coordinates interviewing schedules between students and companies recruiting
- Presents an orientation to students each semester explaining departmental policies, procedures, etc. regarding interviews
- Provides recruiting brochures, video tapes, and annual reports of hospitality companies to students for review before interviewing
- Collects and keeps student resumes on file
- Plans recruiting companies presentations prior to interviewing
- Sends resumes to companies for pre-screening
- Arranges for faculty to host recruiters for lunch during on-campus recruiting
- Arranges for class presentations by recruiters for faculty
- Surveys recruiters concerning student placement at the end of each school semester
