BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Sandra Sydnor-Bousso, an Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management, received her BS from Michigan State University (Package Engineering); her MBA from The University of Miami (FL); and her PhD in Hospitality Management from The Ohio State University, with concentrated study areas in firm performance, entrepreneurship, and statistics. Dr. Sydnor-Bousso has almost thirty years of QSR corporate and entrepreneurial experience; fifteen years of undergraduate and graduate teaching; and over ten years of professional experience in market research and advertising firms.
Dr. Sydnor-Bousso’s primary research interests focus on firm survival, growth, and decline. Her work has analyzed firm performance as a function of business strategies; ownership structure and board composition; and survival under the threat of sudden changes (disasters, crises). From the consumer perspective, Dr. Sydnor-Bousso has investigated consumer branding evaluations and categorizations in quick service restaurant context s and consumer preferences of QSR via discrete choice modeling.
Dr. Sydnor-Bousso’s work was recently nominated at the I-CHRIE Annual Conference’s for the Best Paper Award under the title: Weathering the Storm: Firm Resilience Under Sudden Change.
