Private giving helps ensure that the Department of Foods and Nutrition continues to be one of the best departments of its kind in the nation. Private gifts allow the department to do a variety of things that it might not be able to do otherwise. Gifts can be used to fund programs, scholarships, fellowships, professorships, research, renovations, and new facilities.
Gifts of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Every gift, no matter how large or small, makes an impact on our department. To designate your gift for a specific purpose in the department, type your request in the "Gift" type-in space provided. The gift designation information provided below will assure your gift is put into the appropriate account of your choice.
Three specific initiatives are building to endowment:
-Olivia Bennett Wood Scholarship for undergraduate dietetic students
-Joan Krupinski Memorial Scholarship for undergraduate students
-Linda Okos Memorial Scholarship for graduate assistantships
Additionally, family & friends of Mary Fuqua have requested that memorial gifts be made to the Mary Fuqua Graduate Scholarship endowment.
-The Dan Pratt Award honors the top Foods & Nutrition in Business or Food Science student each year.
Graduate fellowship gifts are a continuing need. A gift to the Foods & Nutrition Graduate Endowment, established by a memorial gift from the Ardith Johnson estate, will help build that account to the level needed to fully support a graduate student.
