MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY SELF-STUDY MODULE
The medical terminology has been included in this course as a self-study module. You are expected to spend time reviewing the information in each unit of the textbook so that you gain a working knowledge of the medical terms that are used in nutrition assessment. This information will not be reviewed during class or lab times. To assess completion of the Medical Terminology Self-Study Module eight quizzes will be administered during the semester. The dates of the quizzes are listed on the class schedule. The scores from seven of the quizzes will be included in the overall grading for the course. You will be given approximately 10 minutes to take the quiz. Each quiz will have ten questions and be worth 10 points.
The workbook has been divided into 8 equal parts as identified below. YOU WILL NEED TO MASTER SECTION A AND SECTION B BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE ACTUAL WORD UNITS. THE FIRST QUIZ INCLUDES CHARTING ABBREVIATIONS. Each quiz covers the following as indicated:
QUIZ 1: Charting abbreviations (bottom of pp. 514-518) plus unit 1
QUIZ 2: Units 2 and 3
QUIZ 3: Units 4 and 5
QUIZ 4: Units 6 and 7
QUIZ 5: Units 8 and 9
QUIZ 6: Units 10 and 11
QUIZ 7: Units 12 and 13
QUIZ 8: Units 14 and 15
