CHANGE OF DEGREE OBJECTIVE (CODO) Change of Degree Objective (CODO) means to transfer from one curriculum to another within the University. The College of Consumer and Family Sciences welcomes CODO students. We are eager to attract students who are truly interested in our majors. CODO requirements for CFS majors.
All CFS students are expected to:
Fulfill all requirements for graduation
Honor prerequisites and course sequencing
Honor course enrollment limits; accepting the fact that if a class is full or restricted to students who are currently in the major, they will have to postpone their enrollment to another semester
We will be happy to work with each prospective CODO student to develop a realistic plan of study. Upon receipt of this plan of study, we expect each student to decide if this plan fits his/her timeline for graduation.

Checklist
Plan on attending the graduation fair that will be held during the semester you will graduate. Each candidate will have the opportunity to indicate participation in the ceremony, request extra tickets, rent a cap and gown, etc. Please bring your student identification card with you.
Make sure your current schedule on SSINFO says "candidate." If it doesn't, contact your academic advisor ASAP.
Check your home and local address on SSINFO, and correct it if it's incorrect. The registrar will mail graduation information to the same address they mail your fee statements.
Make sure you will have completed at least 130 credit hours by the end of the semester. Using SSINFO, go to your Progress Report. Scroll down to the box that says "Indices (4.0 scale)" and make sure that the total hours plus your current semester hours equals at least 130 hours. If it doesn't, contact your advisor immediately. You may need to add another course or you may have outstanding transfer credit that we have not received.
REGISTRATION Registration is the process of selecting courses, reserving space in those courses, receiving a schedule, and paying fees. You are not officially enrolled until fees are paid. Your advisor will help you complete the Course Request Form and after it is processed, a Registration Confirmation Package (RCP) will be issued. The RCP includes the fee invoice and your class schedule. Be sure to pay fees by the due date in order to prevent cancellation of your registration.
TRANSFER CREDIT AND CREDIT EVALUATION Transfer credit is credit earned at another accredited college or university and accepted by Purdue. The University will accept transfer credit only for work done at those institutions fully approved by a regional accrediting association of secondary schools and colleges or those whose regional accreditation designation is Associate/Vocational-Technical (A/V) when agreements with academic departments exist that specify courses or blocks of credit that will transfer into specific Purdue University degree programs.
Students may wish to take courses at another university (i.e. summer classes). To ensure the courses will apply to your plan of study and will be accepted as transfer credit, courses should be evaluated by the Credit Evaluation Department at Purdue.
Follow this procedure:
Determine which course(s) you wish to take another university. Using the desired university's Web-based course catalog, look for similar courses.
Take this information to Credit Evaluation (SCHL 108) and fill out a CTR-5 form.
The Credit Evaluation Department will evaluate the course and mail it to your advisor. Your advisor will record on the form how the course will be used on your plan of study (in some cases, the selected courses may not be approved). The form will be mailed to you at the address you provide.
