Teaching Philosophy:
Learning comes through a combination of doing, reading, hearing, and seeing. It is my task as a teacher to design a course that enables students to understand what is presented and utilize the information. I use a variety of strategies, including visuals that synthesize ideas and information and help make it easy to remember. We all learn differently, so I try to "mix it up a little".
Teaching Interests:
Retail location--a graduate course developed to provide a working knowledge of the theoretical basis for literature and practical applications of current retail location strategy
Family business
Small business retailing--a course that introduces the nature of small business start-up and business plan development to undergraduate students
