Research in the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing
touches at the heart of life and business. Today's research
is helping families plan for retirement, save for a college
education, and run the family business. Employers are benefiting
from research that sheds new light on employee turnover, job
performance, and diversity in the sales force. Businesses are
learning ways to improve customer service, increase customer
satisfaction, and are gaining insight into consumer decision-making.
The department is home to two research centers:
The Center for Customer-Driven
Quality is internationally
recognized as the premier research and education organization
for behavior in customer access and access channel management
issues. The center works with its corporate partners on issues
concerning access channel management, customer relationship
strategy, customer contact personnel, and technology.
The Purdue
Retail Institute is recognized as the premier university-based retailing center
in the Midwest. The institute serves as a bridge between profit
and nonprofit organizations seeking retail-related educational
and research resources and Purdue's outstanding retail management
program. |
