Pagnan named Outstanding Master's Student

Colleen Pagnan, the center’s research assistant, received the Beulah K. Gillaspie Award for the Outstanding Master’s Student in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences (CFS).

Faculty members nominate one student from each of the college’s four departments for this prestigious honor. Pagnan is the nominee from the Department of Child Development and Family Studies (CDFS). The award was presented April 23 at the CFS spring faculty meeting.

Pagnan earned a bachelor’s degree in family and social relations at the University of Guelph, Canada, before starting her master’s degree at Purdue. She’s looking forward to a May graduation and plans to begin working toward her doctorate shortly after.

While at Purdue, Pagnan has been vital to the center. She has assisted in planning the annual advisory council meeting and Family Impact Seminar, helped coordinate and prepare summaries for the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research, and worked in various roles for the Military Family Research Institute. Pagnan also has served as a teaching assistant for two CDFS classes and a research assistant on many projects, including the Welborn Early Child Care Quality Evaluation Initiative.

We’re excited to have such an outstanding individual working with the center. Congratulations, Colleen!
