INFORMATION ON THESIS/DISSERTATION STYLE

The Library Thesis Deposit Office will check the following seven formatting requirements:

- paper requirement
- typeface and quality
- spacing
- margins
- page numbering
- title page
- abstract

All other matters of the manuscript style are to be in the style outlined in the 5th Edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association .

The Graduate Committee prepared the following subset of formatting guidelines from the APA Manual that the major professor is to be especially attentive to:

- Page Format (Chapter 5)
- Quotations (see pp. 117-121 and Chapter 5)
- Headings (see pp. 111-115 and Chapter 5)
- Table Format (see pp. 147-176 and Chapter 5)
- References and Citations (see pp. 215-281 and Chapter 5)

Students should be guided by the preferences of their committees in formatting issues that are not covered in the above list or by the requirements of the Library Thesis Deposit Office.
