IES Postdoctoral Fellow in Early Childhood Research
Two one-year Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in early childhood intervention and professional development research are available at Purdue University, sponsored by a grant from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), U.S. Department of Education research fellowship program. August 2008 start date is preferred. Each Research Fellow’s work will be based in one or more large-scale, federally-funded intervention studies with Professors Douglas Powell and Karen Diamond. Five federally-funded projects are available to support collaborative and independent research in early childhood education – three studies of professional development interventions and two studies of curriculum-based interventions. Research Fellows will engage in independent and collaborative research at Purdue and receive rigorous advanced methodological training.
Candidates must have a recent doctorate in developmental psychology, human development, early childhood education or a closely related field that included coursework in research methods, measurement, and statistics. Demonstrated interest in early childhood program research is required.
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
