Watch the power shovel digging by the MCLC playground!

Construction Begins!
Work is underway on Hanley Hall, the future home of the Department of Child Development and Family Studies and the Child Development Laboratory Preschool. The building and the new CDL playground are slated for completion in 2011. We will watch with interest all of the construction activities west of Fowler House! MCLC children, parents, and teachers are being very generous, sharing their playing and learning space with our own "Bob the Builders."

Welcome to the Purdue Child Development Laboratory Preschool, founded in 1926 as one of the first university laboratory schools in the United States. We welcome young children from 2 to 5 years old, their families, Purdue students and faculty, child and family researchers, and community visitors. The Child Development Lab Preschool offers morning or afternoon preschool classes, Monday through Thursday, from August through April each year, plus a morning summer program. Enjoy exploring the CDL site and please come to visit CDL in person when you have the time.

Mission
The Purdue University Child Development Lab School participates in the missions of a land-grant university in that it provides a site for undergraduate teacher training and observation, faculty and graduate student research. It also serves as a model of appropriate preschool practices for the community in a multi-age, inclusive setting. All aspects of the program are equally important.
